Criteria for Membership

Eta Chi Chapter website is associated with Kappa Delta Pi with international headquarters located in Indiana.
Undergraduate Students

To be eligible for membership, you must:
• be enrolled in an institution offering an education degree and have the intent to continue academically and professionally in the field of education;
• demonstrate leadership attributes;
• have completed at least 30 credit hours of collegiate course work;
• have at least 12 credit hours in education course work programmed, in progress, or completed;
• demonstrate a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or greater (ECU requires 3.2); and
• receive an invitation to membership from the chapter at the college where you are currently enrolled.

Graduate Students
Requirements for Graduate Students include: have completed at least 6 credit hours of graduate course work; have at least 12 credit hours in education course work programmed, in progress, or completed; and demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher for all graduate coursework completed.

University Faculty
Any teaching faculty in a college or university is eligible for membership in Kappa Delta Pi. If you were inducted at another university, contact KDP headquarters (www.kdp.org) and request transfer of your membership to Eta Chi Chapter at East Carolina University. If you are inactive, you may become an active member of Kappa Delta Pi by simply paying current year's dues of $38.00.
